Seeing A Dietitian Online | What to Expect
Telehealth is a way for you to receive healthcare services, including nutrition counselling, by seeing a dietitian online through remote communication technologies such as video conferencing. All dietetic consultations are carried out online over a secure Internet connection.

Online consultations allow you to receive expert nutrition advice without having to travel to a physical location. This can be particularly helpful if you have mobility issues or live in a rural area with limited access to healthcare services. Online consultations can also be more flexible and convenient, allowing you to fit them into your schedule more easily.
Anni provides evidence-based advice to manage a wide range of digestive conditions as well as implementing therapies. She has a special interest and expertise in functional gastrointestinal disorders, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), as well as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis (UC). She is also fully trained in implementing the low FODMAP diet and experienced in Crohn’s disease dietary therapies, such as exclusive enteral nutrition (a liquid diet) and the Crohn’s Disease Exclusion Diet (CDED). Your Initial Consultation
All dietetic services start with a free 15-minute discovery call. When you book a discovery call, you will be invited to sign up for Healthie, a secure online telehealth platform. Appointments can be booked through the Healthie portal.
Once your initial appointment has been booked, you will receive an email confirming your appointment. If you have not received an email upon booking, please contact us. You will receive an automatic video call link and instructions 24 hours before your appointment. If you do not receive this, please let us know.
Once you have booked your online dietetic consultation, you will receive an e-mail notification prompting you to log into the Healthie Portal to pay this invoice online. If you have not received an invoice payment request within 48 hours, please contact us. Invoices are payable in advance of your appointment.
To pay your invoice, log in to your Healthie account from a computer or a web browser. If you have an unpaid invoice, you will see a yellow banner at the top of your screen when you log into your account. Healthie is integrated with the Stripe online payment processing platform, and all credit and debit cards are accepted.
You will need a device with a camera and microphone, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone, as well as a reliable internet connection. Please ensure that you have the Healthie platform installed on your device prior to the consultation. Should there be any issues with the video call connection, we will telephone you to continue your consultation. Please ensure all contact details are correct.
You will be asked to complete a health form and a telehealth consent form. This paperwork will include your personal, health and GP details, what you would like to achieve from the consultation, consent for your information to be securely stored, preferences regarding marketing and for me to be able to inform other healthcare professionals of your consultation and advice provided.
You will also be sent a link to a diet & lifestyle questionnaire to complete. This forms part of our assessment and is helpful to understand your nutritional intake and dietary habits.
I request that you submit the above at least 48-72 hours prior to your consultation, to allow time for review prior to your consultation.
During the consultation, you will be asked questions about your current eating habits, medical history, and lifestyle to better understand your nutritional needs and goals. Based on this information, personalised nutrition advice will be provided and we will help you to develop a plan to achieve your health goals.
After the consultation, with your consent, we provide you with a summary of what has been agreed. With your consent, we can also provide this to your GP and/or Consultant.
Following your initial consultation, follow-up appointments will be arranged as necessary depending on your needs. We are happy to guide you on this decision, as needed.
For cancellations, please contact us at least 48 hours prior to your appointment to avoid a late cancellation fee. We will always do our best to accommodate last minute rescheduling of appointments, however this might not always be possible.
